A subsidiary of Lufkin Industries, Inc. applied Timken thrust roller bearings specially designed by Timken group on its deep-sea oil drilling equipment, making it easier to look for deeper oil reserves in the waters around the world. Such thrust roller bearings are made from Timken ® special steel, and designed to withstand the pressure of 1,000 tons without affecting the performance.
Lufkin France Co., Ltd. Which is a subsidiary of Lufkin Industries, Inc. asks for assistant from Timken Group on its oil drilling equipment in deeper waters. Standard gear-transmission device of sea drilling station is used to explore oil through the gear reducer by stretching drill pipe of hundreds of miles length into the ocean bed. This reducer is installed on a large thrust roller bearing of 444 pounds (about 201.4 kilograms).
